If you’re following me through instagram {if not, you should be now} you know I’m back down south visiting family and friends for a bit. It’s definitely a much needed break from city living, and even though I love seeing friends and spending time with my family I’m ready to see what NYC has in store for me next.

Being back home, I’ve been pulling out my fall/winter clothes to take back with me and I’ve already been transitioning my wardrobe for cooler temperatures. Fall means its time to pull out my favorite tights and oversized cardigans, and I couldn’t have been more happy to pull out my over knee socks to pair with this quirky little bird printed piece from Bebop. I’m a big fan of novelty printed dresses especially when they have a vintage inspired silhouette like this one. Hope you are all enjoying your week!

i’m a big fan of printed pants, especially when they’re as comfortable as pajama pants. what can i say, when it comes to clothes i’m a no-fuss kind of gal and being comfy is essential–especially if i plan on walking around the city and exploring. in other news… later this week i’m headed back home for a visit and i am BEYOND excited!!

wagon wheel

Since moving from the south, I’ve found myself missing the simple things that I never expected to–like good ol’ mother nature. I was never an outdoorsy person, but back home, I was surrounded by hills, trees, deer, and the occasional fox {really} but in my new home I am now surrounded by subways, skyscrapers, and pigeons that do not back down. Seriously, have you ever played chicken with a NYC pigeon!?

Anyways, it’s nice to venture away from the city even if it is just a ferry ride away. I spent this past weekend lying in the grass and walking around looking at art installations on Governor’s Island. The weather was amazing and perfect for wearing one of my favorite Jason Wu for Target dresses, isn’t the little wheel print so sweet? It was a great mini escape, and so so relaxing. Now that I got my “nature fix”, I’m refreshed and excited for the chaos of NYFW!!

It’s been quite some time since my last post and since then I’ve finished up my internship at Seventeen Magazine. It was a great experience, but now that I’m done I will now have more time to continue blogging and exploring the city–which I’m pretty pumped about.

Every girl who’s worn a high-low hem skirt knows how awesome they can make you feel. This leopard print one from Haute Chocolate is perfect for bringing out my wild side and making me feel like a caped crusader trotting down the streets of SoHo.  And when it catches the perfect gust of wind, I feel like I can conquer the world…and with that I’m on to the next adventure!

Hope you all are having a great week!

Summer in the city has begun–hot, humid, and a few random days where the weather is just PERFECT. Today’s weather was cool enough for a stroll through Battery Park wearing my finest pastel perfections.

I’m still adjusting to my surroundings, and at times I do miss the convenience of living in the south. Sometimes it feels like I’m dating the city. There’s days where you feel lovestruck by all the lights and possibilities of what could happen and you’re in a constant whirlwind of awe and inspiration. And then there’s days where the city is really trying to test you–the heat, the smells, the random crazies. But in the end, the city’s beautiful imperfections are what make it so great and I’m so happy to call it my new home.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
